Abstract
A seafarer is a person who works on board a ship as part of its crew, and can work in one of a number of different fields related to ship operation and maintenance. This includes all people working on board. In addition, they are often referred to as crew members or ABK. This writing aims to determine the protection and safety of work on board: This writing is a normative law writing. Observations were made on the prevention of accidents on board at PT. Citra Bahari Shipyard where the author carries out onshore practices in Tegal. Observations were made regarding the prevention of work accidents on board. The results of the writing show that efforts to prevent accidents are to ensure the safety of the souls of the crew. The factors that cause work accidents include work safety equipment (personal protective equipment) for machine crews, unsafe work situations, and knowledge.
