Abstract
Normalization of governor performance to support the smooth operation of the main engine on the SPOB AANS ship. With the rotation stability using the governor which will work when the engine is over-rotated when the ship experiences motion, at that time the governor works to stabilize the engine speed, the working principle of the governor is to regulate the intake of fuel when the engine is over-rotated or low-rotated, by utilizing components that are in the governor through a balanced process / balancy. Observation methodology used includes types and sources of data, data types consist of qualitative data and descriptive data. Qualitative data is data that is recorded not in the form of numbers but by using classifications. Descriptive Data Is a fact finding data using proper interpretation. Data sources consist of primary data and secondary data. And data collection methods include, Field Methods (Observation), Interview Methods (Interview), Method Documents, Methods of literature or literature. Thus getting the results from the supply of sufficient fuel on the main motor to stabilize the engine speed which is connected to the camshaft rotation and connected to the fuel reg which regulates the supply of fuel from the injection pump to the injector, this can run normally if the governor is in a state normal and the performance is stable. To keep the governor's performance stable, it is necessary to carry out maintenance and regular checks according to working hours and seeing the condition and performance, therefore we carry out maintenance of the governor.
