Abstract
Shore connection provides electricity from the port to the ships at the dock, where the main engine and auxiliary engines are turned off. Shore Power can save fuel that must be used to power ships while in port and reduce air pollution at the port due to fuel from ship assist machinery (auxiliary engines). This paper's report uses a qualitative descriptive approach so that it provides the conditions and description as it is without manipulating the data that has been reported. To support data information, the authors use primary data in the form of data obtained directly from the coastal relationship and secondary data about the environment and maintenance of coastal relations from journals, books and the internet. The method used in studying the data is the observation method, the interview method, the literature method. The coastal connection is a power efficiency measure by utilizing electrical resources from land to ship to reduce fuel consumption on ships and reduce air pollution in the port considering the exhaust gas generated by diesel engines consists of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx), Sulfur Oxide (SOx), Hydrocarbons (HC), Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Particulates. The purpose of this paper is to understand how the operation and maintenance of a shore connection panel. From the results of the discussion, it was found that the method of operation and maintenance of a shore connection. Problems during the coastal connection operation. Keywords: shore connection, pollution, maintenance and operation
