Abstract

The main problem in writing this paper is the cause of damage and how to repair, as well as operation and maintenance of air compressors for the sandblasting process at PT, Janata Marina Indah. The background of the problem in this paper is the maintenance and operation of air compressors, repairs in case of damage and causes of air. the result of the compressor is less than the maximum. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out how to maintain and operate, repair if there is damage, and the cause of the air pressure is less than optimal for the hull sandblasting process at PT. Janata marina indah In this paper using several writing methods, namely: interview method (interview), method of observation (observation), library research (library research) and documentation. These data were obtained when doing land practice at PT Janata Marina Indah Semarang. The results of the discussion of this paper are knowing how to maintain and operate the air compressor which aims to find out the stages before it is used in the sandblasting process, as well as repairs to the air compressor which was damaged when the sandblasting process was carried out, and about the causes of the air produced by the air compressor. not optimal for the hull sandblasting process at PT. Janata Marina Indah Semarang. writer can conclude from the making of this paper are the factors of how to maintain and operate, repair if there is damage and the cause of the result of less than optimal compressed air from the air compressor by paying attention to lubrication and cooling, and a lack of knowledge about how to maintenance and operate air compressors as well as irregular schedules. maintenance is carried out in accordance with the basics of theory and compressor working hours for the sandblasting process and the application of work safety at PT.
