Abstract

Damage To Windlass On Rescue Boat 209 Tanjungpinang Basarnas That Result In Reduced Windlass Performance Windlass machine is a crane engine installed in the ship for the purpose of lifting and stretching windlass and windlass chains through windlass tubes. Serves to fasten the ship to the bottom of the water, on the sea, river or lake so that the ship cannot move due to gusts of wind, current or waves (Suharsini Arikunto, 2009). Based on the background of the problem on the windlass machine, a problem can be formulated to reduce the performance of the windlass engine so that the windlass takes a long time to pull and decrease the grip of the brake lining due to damaged brake shoes. In this paper it can be concluded that the cause of the decline in windlass engine performance so that windlass takes a long time to pull due to weakening hydraulic pressure and a decrease in grip of brake lining caused by the mixture of dirt, residual lubrication attached to the canvas and brake shoes. Hopefully the windlass engine can operate normally. It is recommended to carry out repaire of windlass engine components. Key words : Windlass, Hydraulic Pump, Chain Stopper, Broken Load
