Abstract

Maritime development cannot be separated from ships as a means of transportation. That causes the need for docks as a place to manufacture and repair ships. The increasingly expensive land prices and the various advantages offered make floating docks increasingly in demand as a solution. The floating dock itself as a floating structure cannot be separated from the influence of external forces such as waves, wind, and currents the floating dock motion due to external forces, stresses that occur in the binding chain, and the level of comfort of the floating dock it self. In this process there is 3 floating dock conditions namely when empty, when the ship boarded the dock, and when the conditions were full replies, and with 3 variations of the incident wave angle namely 45° and 90°. Also varied floating dock binding configurations ie cross and spread. After analyzing it is concluded that the value of the chain tension in the empty condition and the ship ride dock is below the breaking load limit, whereas in the condition of full replies the stress that occurs exceeds the breaking load limit in both the diffuse binding design and cross binding. The cross binding has a maximum stress value greater than the discomfort floating dock motion is not uncomfortable or can be said to be comfortable with a heave acceleration of 208 eg.
