Abstract
So large and abundant coal natural resources in Indonesia, then coal has a very important role in supporting economic activities, especially in the industrial sector. The same is the case with the need for electricity that uses coal as the main alternative raw material to replace the oil raw material which is decreasing in number. Given the population and concentration of economic and industrial activities still concentrated on the island of Java, there is a need for large-scale power plants, one of which is the PLTU Suralaya Banten coal power plant which has a Java-Bali interconnection. Unloading of coal is an important initial stage in supplying coal from ships to the coal stacking field and then processed to become a steam power plant. In demolition of bulk coal loads, of course handling and loading equipment is needed to facilitate the process of unloading bulk coal from ships to the stacking field. The purpose of the observation and writing of this paper is as a means of knowledge about the process of loading bulk coal in the PLTU Suralaya Banten. The method used in making observations is by conducting observations, interviews and literature reviews which produces conclusions in giving explicit intructions and information to TKBM for routine in carrying out heavy equipment checking activities before loading and unloading activities and providing guidance and training to TKBM and establishing good communication between related parties.
