Abstract
Tanker is one means of sea transport is a tool for transporting liquid cargo. Inevitably transporting liquid cargo ships require advanced technology, so that the tanker is designed to accommodate a wide variety of liquid cargo. The tankers construction is made special arrangement of cargo, cargo pumps, ventilation systems, heating systems and other liquid cargo .Liquid cargo handling is really need an experienced crew who science and tecnology with the development of science and technology, the tanker has been reformed so that the cargo loading and discharge operations become increasingly complex, why the crew asked to complete the implementation of the loading and usage to reduce or even eliminate losses. The purpose of this study is to add knowledge to cope with contamination of the cargo on the ship. This study uses a qualitative method. Qualitative methods of research that provides descriptive data in the form of words written or spoken of crew observed nearby. The results of this study will conclude that the unloading process is both fast, accurate and secure. MT Noni T has a standard common procedures regarding the loading and unloading process. But often found errors in handling cargo such as cargo loading and discharge us as arranged. Delays in the process of loading and discharging caused by the lack of skills of the crew and lack of supervision of the responsible officer on duty. And damage to the unloading and tank cleaning equipment due to lack of maintenance and spare parts are limited. Keywords : Contamination, cargo handling ,different grade cargo
