Abstract
Dredging works to clean and deepen the river for water transport, dredgers are also in use to deepen the base of the ports and docks so large ships can lean. Dredgers are placed with heavy stakes (spud), the tool is then lowered through the open space inside the ship. spud can reach up to a depth of 21 meters and should be able to reach the bottom of a shallow river or sea. The purpose of maintaining the spud position with anchors and ropes so that if the base is very soft then the spud can be effective. after the spud dredging is raised with the pull by the barge and the dredger manouvere to forward 1.5 meters till 4 meters to the next position can also move the vessel by placing anchor in front of the ship some distance and then pull the rope so that the ship moving to forward. Thus the dredging process can make it easier for large ships to lean. Key Words: Dredging, Procedures, mechanism of work, Manoeuvre
