Abstract
The Importance Of Generators To Meet The Needs Of Electrical Energy In Motor Vessel Sinar Bangun A generator is an electric machine that converts mechanical power into electrical power. Electric machines can be generators and motors and based on the current direction the electric engine is divided into direct current (AC) machines and alternating current (DC) electric machines. This depends on the construction of the generator used by the power plant. Based on the background that has been stated, then the problem in this study can be defined that lubrication and cooling using sea and fresh water media is very necessary to reduce overheating on the generator. These activities must be carried out regularly so that the generator can work optimally. If the performance of the generator is not optimal it will usually cause new problems such as no electricity voltage at the generator. To overcome the frequent heat of the generator, by checking and adding oil, if it is lacking and checking the cooling of sea and fresh water. And if the generator does not come out of electric voltage, then check the rotating diode in the exciter. Replace the damaged diode that can affect the size of the voltage on the generator.
