Abstract
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF GENERATORS TO INCREASE ELECTRICAL EFFICIENCY IN ABADI SOURCE FISHING MOTOR SHIP UNIT PORT MANAGEMENT JUWANA Generator is an electric machine that functions to convert mechanical energy into electricity, while a generator or generator set is an electric machine consisting of a generator and motor that is used to drive a generator motor, therefore the existence of a generator on board is very important as a supplier of needs electricity. Regarding the maintenance of alternating current generators with maintenance in direct current generators, only due to the form of a commutator in the form of two slip rings, the maintenance of alternating current generators is easier than a direct current generator. To take care of the generator must be considered: Do not let any other noise during runing and if there is then it must be checked maybe there is less in position, Brush (brush) should not emit sparks and if there is then the position and shape of the brush is not perfect, coil -The wire twist should not be moist and if it is damp it must be dried and then isolated. The generator operating procedure is as follows: Open the diesel tank valve, connect the AC starter motor cable (ACCU) AC, press the start button to turn on the generator, move the power handle on the panel to the generator position to insert the main panel power generator.
