Abstract
Maritime Environmental Protection is an effort to prevent and overcome water environmental pollution from originating from activities related to shipping. Basically, the sea has the natural ability to neutralize the pollutants that enter it. However, if these polluting substances exceed the limit of seawater's ability to neutralize them, then the condition is categorized as pollution. This level of marine pollution has become a serious threat to the marine ecosystem with all its potential. Therefore, in reducing pollution and protecting the Maritime Environment in Indonesian waters, the Directorate of Traffic and Sea Transportation plays an important role in supervising every transportation activity in waters, ports, for the sake of securing the safety and security of the maritime environment in Indonesian waters.
