Abstract
The Pati Ring Road is a transportation infrastructure that plays a strategic role as an alternative route to reduce traffic congestion in the center of Pati City while supporting community mobility and goods distribution. The increasing volume of traffic along this road requires the provision of safe, secure, and efficient road services to ensure optimal service quality for road users. Road users' perceptions of road performance constitute an important indicator for evaluating the quality of transportation infrastructure services, as they reflect users' direct experiences while traveling on the road. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effects of traffic security, traffic safety, and traffic flow on the perceived performance of the Pati Ring Road along the Simpang 4 Ngantru–Simpang 4 Tanjang segment. This study employed a quantitative research method using a survey approach. Primary data were collected through field observations, traffic surveys, and questionnaires distributed to 100 users of the Pati Ring Road, while secondary data were obtained through documentation and a literature review. Road performance was analyzed using the 1997 Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI), whereas the relationships among variables were examined using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 26. The results of the road performance analysis indicate that the Pati Ring Road has a capacity of 6,270 passenger car units per hour (pcu/hour), a traffic volume of 2,198 pcu/hour, a Degree of Saturation (DS) of 0.351, and a Level of Service (LOS) of B, indicating stable traffic flow conditions and satisfactory road performance. The multiple linear regression analysis produced the following equation: Y = −0,777 + 0,108X₁ + 0,435X₂ + 0,620X₃ + μ The t-test results indicate that traffic safety and traffic flow have a positive and statistically significant effect on the perceived performance of the Pati Ring Road, whereas traffic security has a positive but statistically insignificant effect. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination analysis yielded an Adjusted R Square value of 0.584, indicating that 58.4% of the variation in the perceived performance of the Pati Ring Road can be explained by the three independent variables, while the remaining 41.6% is influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study. Therefore, improving traffic safety and traffic flow, together with optimizing supporting road facilities such as street lighting, traffic signs, pavement markings, and traffic monitoring, should be prioritized to enhance public perceptions of the performance of the Pati Ring Road. Keywords: traffic security, traffic safety, traffic flow, perceived road performance, Pati Ring Road.
