Abstract

This paper aims to optimize ship berthing planning with the aim of minimizing accidents on board or problems that occur on board. The results of this study indicate that there are constraints that occur. Based on the discussion, it can be concluded that problems with ship berth planning can be minimized by reducing internal and external factors that can affect or hinder ship planning. Carrying out all checks and good communication between ships, agents, and agencies related to sending documents quickly and precisely and on the targeted time can help for the process of docking the ship properly and according to procedures. The results of this study are, by increasing supervision of the performance of ship docking, idle time will not occur. Supervision is carried out covering the ship's awareness time so that when docking for ship docking activities it does not experience delays which result in inappropriate docking times and also impact on ship docking productivity.
