Abstract

Congestion is a condition where the traffic flow passing on the road section under review exceeds the planned capacity of the road, resulting in queues causing congestion. Currently, traffic jams are an event that we usually see in the morning, afternoon and late afternoon. This problem occurs because of the increase in the number of vehicles with unbalanced road growth so that apart from causing congestion it can also cause traffic accidents. This problem is also an old problem for which no proper solution has yet been found. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the independent variables, namely the level of road service, side obstacles and traffic volume on the dependent variable, namely traffic congestion. In this research, the object taken was the user community on the Majapahit road, Semarang City. The sample for this research was 100 respondents and the technique used was a nonprobability sampling technique, namely by using incidental sampling, which is a sampling technique by chance or anyone who meets the researcher by chance can be used as a sample. The research model is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 26. The regression formulation in this research is as follows: Y = 0.733 +0.333X1+0.203X2 + 0.385X3 + µ From this equation it is known that the variable that has the most dominant influence on traffic congestion is the traffic volume variable with a regression coefficient multiples which are explained in unstandardized beta coefficients with values of 0.385. The R2 (R Square) test obtained a result of 0.561 or 56.1%, which means that traffic congestion is influenced by the variable level of road service, side obstacles and traffic volume, which is 56.1% and other factors that influence traffic congestion. on the Majapahit road section, it is 43.9%. Keywords: Traffic Congestion, Traffic Volume, Side Obstacles, Road Service Level.
