Abstract
Particularlu for the KN. Karimun Jawa, which supports navigational activities in the Type A Class II Navigation District of Semarang, ship maintenance is crucial to maintaining operational dependability and navigational safety. A Planned Maintenance System (PMS), which controls the timetable for ship component inspections, repair, and replacement, is used to keep the ship in top shape. However, due to a number of obstacles, including a lack of replacement parts, inadequate crew technical proficiency, inconsistent paperwork, and little use of condition-based monitoring, PMS has not been effectively implemented in practice. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the succes of PMS implementation, pinpoint the difficulties encountered, and provide optimization techniques. The research methodology employs an observational qualitative approach. Particularly for the KN.
