Abstract
This research was conducted to answer questions related to the ship agency service process from the time the ship arrives at the port until it departs for the port of destination, the procedures that must be carried out, as well as the costs arising from ship operations at the port. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The data analyzed is the result of interviews with shipping companies, direct observations and reviews of regulations in the shipping sector. This research focuses on the implementation of agency services at PT. Bahari Laju Anugerah in supporting ship services. The aim of this research is to understand ship agency activities, compare and combine theory obtained from college with practice in the field as well as factors that support the implementation of ship agency services. The research results show that coordination, communication and cooperation between shipping agents and related agencies must be well established. The process of implementing ship clearance-in/out must comply with applicable procedures and regulations. All costs arising from ship activities at the port must be calculated in accordance with applicable regulations and reported to the General Agent or to the owner.
