Abstract
Congestion is a condition where the traffic flow passing on the reviewed road section exceeds the capacity of the road plan which results in queues.Currently, traffic jams are an occurrence that we usually see both in the morning, during the day and in the evening towards night. This problem occurs because there is an increase in the number of vehicles with unbalanced road growth so that in addition to causing congestion, it can also cause traffic accidents. This problem is also an old problem that has not yet been found a proper solution. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence between independent variables, namely road congestion, human factors, and traffic volume, on dependent variables, namely traffic congestion. In this study, the objects taken are people who have passed through or have been affected by congestion on the Simpang 4 Tanjung Market road section Jember City. The sample in this study is 100 respondents with the technique used is a non-probality sampling technique, which is by using incidental sampling, which is a sampling technique by chance or anyone who happens to meet the researcher can be used as a sample. The research model is multiple linear regression analysis.Based on the results of the research and multiple linear analysis, the following equations were produced: Y = 0.733 + 0.333 X1 + 0.203 X2 + 0.385 X3 + μ The results of the Hypothesis Test show that road narrowing has a positive and significant effect on traffic congestion (t count 3.702> t table 1.984) and human factors had a positive influence on traffic congestion (t count 2,268> t table 1,984), and traffic volume on traffic congestion (t count 3,584> t table 1,984). The influence of the three variables of this study was obtained with the correlation value of Adjusted R2 = 0.561. This means that 56.1% variation of the dependent variable of traffic congestion can be explained from the three independent variables, namely road constriction, human factors, and traffic volume. While the remaining 43.9% was influenced by other variables outside this study. Keywords: Traffic Congestion, Road Narrowing, Human Factors, Traffic Volume
