Abstract
In lire with implementation of economic development in Indonesia, trading activity is one of the economic development sector whose development requires adequate transportation facilities, good transportation of sea, land and air. Based on the National Transportation System (SISTRANAS), required the development of ocean transport as well as all activites supporting business activities. It also affected the development of the business activities of loading and unloading activities in the field engaged in loading and unloading of goods to and from ships in the harbour. In carrying out its activites, the Company unloading risk to the safety and security of goods in any conduct activity raising concerns for the use of the service of the loss of goods. So the lark of clarity regarding the responsibilities of the loading and unloading of theh company in the implementation of the loading and unloading of goods in port. The formulation of this research is how the process of organizing the transport of goods by sea under the Shipping Act 17 of 2008, how the activities of stevedoring company as part of the subject of the transport law and how the responsibility of PT. Krakatau Jasa Samudera in the implementation of loading and unloading. Forms of research used in this research is by using library research (library research) is to conduct research data on literature and field research (field research) is to acquire data of the location and the object of research and direct interviews with sources of PT. Krakatau Jasa Samudera. From the results that in the process of transporting goods by sea pursuant of 2008, there were 17 parties related business services that act as supporting the smoth transportation activities at sea and also contains arragements regarding cabotage principle. The company’s activities as part of the loading and unloading pf the transport legal subject, see the function stevedoring company it self which is a specialized company that handles steel. PT. Krakatau Jasa Samudera Company in the execution of loading load has a number responsibilities such a the loss caused by the fault and negligence of it with certain restriction.
