Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the refrigeration system on the MT. JM Sutera 8 vessel using the U-S-G (Urgency, Seriousness, Growth) method, as well as analysis of COE (Coefficient of Performance), reliability, and validity. The results show that maintenance of the cooling machine significantly impacts the performance of the refrigeration system in maintaining the t emperature of food storage spaces. The main issues identified include compressor malfunctions, blockages within the system, and insufficient refrigerant, which lead to reduced refrigeration performance and increased energy wastage. The maintenance criteria used in the evaluation include storage room temperature, the condition of the cooling machine, compressor maintenance, and refrigerant availability. The evaluation using the U-S-G method shows that compressor issues and system blockages require immediate attention. The COP calculation of 0.813 indicates low system efficiency, but improvements in maintenance can significantly enhance refrigeration system performance. Based on reliability and validity of the data obtained, the consistency value is 0.67, indicating good alignment of data across various sources used in the data triangulation process. Keywords: Cooling Machine Maintenance, Refrigeration System, U-S-G, COE, Validity and Reliability
