Abstract

Log loading and unloading activities at the port require efficient equipment and time management to avoid cost overruns and operational delays. One of the main tools used is the luffing crane. This study aims to: (1) analyze the effect of unloading cycle time on the efficiency of Luffing crane at Tk. Bina Utama in Tanjung Emas Inner Harbor 1 (2) determine the relationship between unloading cost and the length of log unloading time and (3) assess the effect of berthing cost on the length of ship berthing time. The method used is quantitative method with statistical analysis through ANOVA test and Tukey test at 5% significance level. The results showed that: (1) there is a significant influence between unloading cycle time and luffing crane performance, Tk. Bina Utama has an average cycle time of 4 minutes 32 seconds, faster than Tk. samudra selaras which reaches 5 minutes 35 seconds (2) unloading costs are calculated based on cargo volume, but the efficiency of working time still affects the total volume unloaded per shift, thus affecting operational effectiveness and (3) ship berthing costs are closely related to the length of unloading time. Vessels with longer unloading times will bear greater berthing costs, so time efficiency is an important factor in controlling port costs.
