Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the operational performance of Anchor Handling Tug (AHT) vessels using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method, which includes three main parameters: Availability, Performance, and Quality. The study was conducted by analyzing operational data of the vessel from May 17 to June 2, 2025, covering various technical activities such as anchor handling, fuel filling, and vessel operation at different locations. The results of the calculation show that the vessel operates with an average OEE of 61.61%, which falls into the "Needs Improvement" category. This indicates that the vessel is operating well but still has room for improvement, particularly in the aspects of Availability and Performance. Significant fluctuations in OEE, with a standard deviation of 13.87%, reflect inconsistencies in the vessel's operational performance, which may be caused by idle time, decreased productivity, and unforeseen technical issues. Based on the research findings, it is recommended to reduce downtime, improve operational speed, and enhance quality consistency by implementing more detailed standard procedures. Preventive maintenance and real-time monitoring are also suggested to improve the vessel's availability and reduce fluctuations in performance. Overall, this study provides valuable insights for managing AHT vessel operational performance, focusing on improving time efficiency and operational quality to achieve higher OEE. This research also contributes to the development of performance evaluation methodologies for vessels in the shipping industry, specifically in the context of AHT operations.
