Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Safety Culture, Air Traffic Control (ATC), and Safety Management System (SMS) on aviation safety at Jenderal Ahmad Yani International Airport, Semarang. Using a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis and data from 82 respondents (AMC and AirNav personnel), the results show that Safety Culture (X1) has a positive and significant effect (sig. 0.008, coefficient 0.305), ATC (X2) has a positive and significant effect (sig. 0.008, coefficient 0.335), and SMS (X3) has a positive and significant effect (sig. 0.043, coefficient 0.230) on aviation safety (Y). These variables collectively contribute 52.2% to aviation safety, with the remaining 47.8% influenced by external factors such as weather and aircraft technology. Open-ended responses highlight the importance of employee awareness, accurate information provision by ATC, and hazard identification by SMS. Managerial implications include enhancing safety awareness training, optimizing ATC communication, and strengthening SMS risk reporting systems. The study recommends regular training, ATC skill enhancement, and improved SMS responsiveness to ensure higher safety standards.
