Abstract
Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world, this is proven by 2/3 of its territory being waters, therefore sea transportation has a very important role for an archipelagic country. Indonesia has 17,504 islands and is united by a vast ocean, therefore sea transportation is the "lifeblood" for the Indonesian economy. To ensure the safety of transportation at sea, it is necessary to have supporting facilities for shipping safety, such as navigation aids (SNBP), state navigation ships for example KN. Prajapati which operates under the auspices and working area of the Class III Tanjung Intan Cilacap Navigation District, and other infrastructure. This study aims to provide insight to cadets about the role of state ships in operational navigation activities and optimal safety in navigation for ships carrying out navigation in waters within the working area of the Class III Tanjung Intan Cilacap Navigation District. The data collection method uses literature studies, observations, and interviews. The results of this paper show that the KN Prajapati Ship plays a very important role in maintaining the security and efficiency of shipping lanes in Cilacap. Through its duties in SBNP maintenance, navigation patrol, sea depth measurement, and SAR operation support, this ship ensures that shipping in Cilacap waters is safe. Routine maintenance of SBNP by the KN Prajapti Ship reduces the risk of ship accidents due to the lack of clear navigation signs. Keywords: Ship, Shipping Lane, Safe, SBNP
