Navigational Telex (NAVTEX) is an automated information system that provides navigation warnings, meteorogical, forecasts, and maritime safety masages in text format, broadcast periodically. This study examines the role of NAVTEX in supporting the safety and security of navigation on the state ship KN. Bimasakti Utama operating within the jurisdiction of the navigation distrik navigation class I tanjung perak port. The research aims to assess whether the use of NAVTEX complies with the SOLAS 1974/1978 regulations, evaluate its function in voyage planning, and, analyze the need for increased crew awarenes and competence in its operation. Using qualitative methods including observation, interviews, and, documentation, the study finds that NAVTEX is operated in accordance with internasional standards maritime, and, plays a vital role in delivering weather alerts, navigational hazards, and, search and rescue (SAR) information. However, enhanced crew training is necessary to optimize its use. The integration of NAVTEX into the vessel navigation system and continuous crew development are essential to reduce maritime incidents and enhance overall operational safety. Maritime safety and security are critical components of the maritime industry that significantly impact efficiency, sustainability, and enviromental protection. With the increasing volume of global trade conducted via sea routes, challenges related to safety, such as maritime accidents, pollution, and piracy, have become more complex. This study examines various factors influencing maritime safety, including internasional regulations, navigation technology, and crew training. Additionally, risk analysis and the development of emergency response procedures are essential for enhancing security. Through the implementation of stringent standarts and the untilization of modern technology, it is hoped that incidents can be minimized, protecting both human lives and marine ecosystems. Maritime safety and security are not only vital for the industry but also for the global community the relies on maritime transportation. Keywords: NAVTEX, Maritime Safety, Security
