Abstract
The Benoa Class II Harbor Master and Port Authority Office is a government agency under the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation which is tasked with carrying out supervision and law enforcement in the field of shipping safety and security. To realize the enforcement of this law in order to create and improve safety on board ships, the harbormaster's office has the obligation to ensure that every ship that will sail needs to be inspected in order to ensure ship safety and protection of the maritime environment. The party involved in this process is the Serangan port office. Ship inspection aims to ensure whether improving ship safety is in accordance with applicable regulations or not. The purpose of this paper is to find out the role of the Harbor Master's Office and Benoa Class II Port Authority in improving shipping safety at the Serangan Port. The method used in this paper is field research, observation and interviews. So it can be concluded that the Harbormaster's Office and Port Authority have an important role in realizing a good shipping system and are able to improve safety which has been implemented in accordance with procedures.
