Abstract
Shipping safety is a state of fulfilling the safety and security requirements of ships related to water transportation, ports, and the maritime environment. Central Java Province is a province with quite busy shipping activities, so the existence of sea transportation is very strategic in terms of accessibility from/to other areas/regions. This study aims to determine the influence of Navigation Aids, Ship Safety Tools, and Captain's Responsibility on Shipping Safety at Tanjung Emas Port Semarang. The population in this study is ship crews operating at Tanjung Emas Port Semarang and the sample used in this study is 79 respondents. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling of the Incidental sampling type, then the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistic Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. The formulation of regression in this study is as follows: Y = 0.379 + 0.359 X1 + 0.223 X2 + 0.364 X3 + μ From the equation, it is known that the most dominant variable affecting Shipping Safety is the Navigation Aids variable with a regression coefficient of 0.379. The R2 test (R Square) obtained a result of 0.621 or 62.1% which means that Shipping Safety is influenced by the variables of Navigation Aids, Ship Safety Tools, and Captain's Responsibility, which is 62.1% and other factors that affect Shipping Safety at Tanjung Emas Port Semarang which is 37.9%. Keywords: shipping safety, navigation aids, ship safety tools, the responsibility of the captain
