Abstract
KN Jembio-P.215 is one of the state ships of the Maritime and Coast Guard Unit under the auspices of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation (Ditjenhubla) belonging to the Ministry of Transportation in the Class I KSOP (Office of Harbormaster and Port Authority) waters of Tanjung Priok. KPLP has the task of supervising shipping safety and security, preventing and controlling pollution at sea, and so on. This research will focus on discussing the role of KN. Jembio in efforts to prevent marine pollution in Semarang waters. This research aims to find out the role of patrol boats in carrying out their functions, especially in monitoring the prevention of pollution at sea, in order to protect the surrounding waters from pollution. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach which is obtained through observation, interviews, documentation, and study of literature. The results of this research show that routine patrols are something that must be carried out by all state patrol vessels, in order to monitor and prevent any incidents and violations that occur around the operational areas of the state ships. However, in monitoring the prevention of marine pollution, several obstacles were also found that affected the effectiveness of the performance of the KN patrol vessels. Jembio-P.215 in carrying out its role, in this case preventing pollution that occurs in Semarang waters. Keywords: State Ships, Surveillance, Pollution.
