Abstract
Indonesia is a country known as a maritime country where most of its territory is waters and consists of islands. Therefore, sea transportation facilities are very important to connect islands spread throughout Indonesia. The ship goes from one port to another, so the shipping company must take care of the ship that is operated at the port where it stops. Activities to take care of all the needs of the ship starting from the beginning of the arrival of the ship, while at the port to the time of departure. The purpose of the observation carried out by the author is to find out the Supervision of the loading and unloading process by the Municipal Affairs Office and the Tanjung Emas Semarang Class I Port Authority. This research is to find out how to supervise loading and unloading at the port pier of Tanjung Emas, Semarang. This study uses a descriptive type of research, with a survey method. The type of data is obtained through direct observation in the field, writings and research results regarding the loading and unloading process, with quantitative analysis. The results of this study show that generally loading and unloading at the Selatpanjang port pier as seen from the loading and unloading process, namely discipline, safety, confidence, and responsiveness for the smooth loading and unloading process.
