Abstract

The pump is one of the many fluid machines that is useful in providing energy to the fluid. Pumps usually have several problems including vibration that is too high. Vibration can result from improper alignment of the pump with the electric motor. This causes the balancing drum to wear out and the bearing to break. This research is useful to find out how much failure occurs using the fault tree analysis and root couse analysis methods. In addition, this research is used to determine the reliability of these components based on calculations with the reliability block diagram. The data analysis techniques used in this study are Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA). The results of the study used the fault tree analysis method, the critical components whose failures include seal ring failure of 3%, packing failure of 3%, shaft failure of 1.99%, casing failure of 1.99%, impeller failure of 1.99%, and bearing failure of 4%. lubrication of the seal ring, frequent disassembly of the casing so that the packing is quickly damaged, bearings experience corrosion, impeller corrosion, and the shaft experiences fatigue. The results of the ANOVA test confirm that there is an average difference in each assumed value for a given component. reliability calculation centrifugal pump using the Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), the reliability of the centrifugal pump was obtained at 200 hours of operation the reliability of the pump reached 53.47%, at 300 hours it became 39.1%, at 400 hours it became 28.59%, and at 500 hours it decreased to 20.91%.
