Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Comfort, Facilities, Fares, and Punctuality on the number of Dharmawangsa train passengers on the Semarang-Jakarta route. The population in this study was the number of Dharmawangsa train passengers with a total of 100 respondents. Sampling in this study used a non-probability sampling technique, and used the accidental sampling method, the analysis used in this study included validity tests, reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear analysis, and hypothesis tests including t-tests, and coefficients of determination. (R2), the results of the multiple regression analysis that have been carried out obtained the following results: Y = -0.373 + 0.311.X1 + 0.293.X2 + 0.135.X3 + 0.293.X4 + µ This means that the independent variables, namely comfort, facilities, and punctuality, have a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable, namely the number of Dharmawangsa train passengers, while the fare variable does not affect the number of passengers. The Comfort variable has a positive effect on the number of passengers with a calculated t value (3.863)>t table (1.985) with a significant value of 0.001<0.05. The Facility variable has a positive effect on the number of passengers with a calculated t value (3.349)>t table with a significant value of 0.001<0.05. The Fare variable has little effect on the number of passengers with a calculated t value (1.566)>t table (1.985) with a significant value of 0.121<0.05. The Punctuality variable has a positive effect on the number of passengers with a calculated t value (3.644)>t table (1.985) with a significant value of 0.001<0.05. The variable that has the greatest influence is Comfort (0.311), followed by the Perception of Punctuality variable and the Facility variable (0.293) and the fare variable (0.135). And the coefficient of determination (adjusted R2) obtained is (0.818). This means that 81.8% of the number of passengers is influenced by the variables of comfort, facilities, and fares. While the remaining 18.2% is influenced by other variables that are not explained by the variables of this study. From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable influencing the number of passengers is the comfort variable with a regression coefficient of 0.311. And the R2 test obtained a result of 818 or 81.8% which means that the decision of passengers to use the Dharmawangsa train on the Semarang-Jakarta route is influenced by Comfort, Facilities, and Punctuality, which is 81.8% and other factors that influence the number of passengers using the Dharmawangsa train on the Semarang-Jakarta route are 18.2% or 0.182.
