Abstract

Semarang's Tanjung Emas Port, as the main port in Central Java Province, plays an important role in supporting the regional and national economy. Managed by PT. Port Indonesia III since 1985, this port serves various loading and unloading activities for goods and passengers and functions as a strategic point in distribution and trade. This research aims to analyze the performance of ship services at Tanjung Emas Port during 2023 with a focus on three main indicators: Arrival Rate, Service Time, and Berth Occupancy Ratio (BOR). The research results show an average Arrival Rate of 3 ships per day, which indicates the potential for dock congestion if capacity is inadequate. The average service time of 9.6 hours requires special attention because fluctuations in service time, which vary between 7.7 to 13.4 hours per ship, can cause delays and backlogs. The average BOR of 56% indicates that dock capacity can be optimized. Based on these findings, suggestions for improving ship service performance include better capacity planning, adjusting service processes to reduce fluctuations in service time, and more effective BOR management. These steps are expected to improve port operational efficiency, reduce delays, and prepare the port to face future challenges. Keywords: Ship Service, Arrival Rate, Service Time, Berth Occupancy Ratio.
