Abstract

Sandblasting is a method of cleaning the hull surface from corrosion, the remnants of old paint layers, and fouling marks by using silica/quartz sand as an abrasive agent. The TK. Thanks to 12 sandblasting with a cleanliness level of Sa2.5 using a compressor air pressure of 7-8 bar. The area sandblasted includes 2049 m2 for sweep blasting and 1202 m2 for spot blasting. After the sandblasting work, painting is carried out, which is the process of maintaining and protecting the hull from the danger of damage due to corrosion and fouling. On the hull of the kindergarten. Thanks to 12, three coats were carried out on the BGA area using AC primer, AC intermediate, and AF primer paint, and twice coating the AGA area using AC primer paint and finishing. The area of AC primary coating is 3251 m2, AC intermediate is 3223 m2, AF is 3223 m2, and AGA finishing is 928 m2. Based on the results of the painting inspection in the form of DFT measurements, it is known that the painting results of TK Berkat 12 have met BKI standards. The operational cost for sanblasting blocks has a difference between the cleanliness level of Sa 2 and Sa 2 1/2. Of course, Sa 2 1/2 is much more expensive because the sandblasting process to reach the level of cleanliness of Sa 2 1/2 takes almost 21 working hours or 3 days and automatically requires more abrasive material than the cleanliness level of Sa 2. This study also used a method of testing the thickness of ship plates and the results obtained were the results of testing on 5 specimens in the second, it is known that the thickness of the plates with the values of F2 and F4 specimens with a thickness of 9.2 each while the F3 specimens and F5 specimens with a thickness of 9.1 mm each. This figure is still below the thickness tolerance of 9.6 mm. All measurement data displayed in the table and garfik above there are 4 specimens of UTG results that are below the predetermined plate thickness standard, which is 9.6 mm. Therefore, the specimen that is suitable for the coating process is the F1 specimen of 9.6. Keywords: Sandblasting, Coating, Ship, Janata Marina Indah Semarang
