Abstract
In the fourth industrial era, the shipbuilding industry has developed into a very important manufacturing sector and has the ability to contribute to the national economy. It is very important for the shipbuilding industry to grow into a competitive and superior sector as part of the maritime sector. PT Janata Marina Indah is an Indonesian shipyard that is ready to compete with foreign shipyards with more sophisticated technology. In the process of ship repair and shipbuilding, there is a need for supporting facilities that help ensure all processes run smoothly. Pool / floating dock at PT. Janata Marina Indah is a pier used to dock ships and repair ships for small types of work. Several things can affect the work if they are not developed properly. Optimal dock development will reduce incidents that can disrupt the stability of the company's existing production process. The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. This method aims to understand the context, process and meaning behind the development of the Ship Berth at PT. Janta Marina Indah through collecting and analyzing non-numerical data, such as interviews, observations and document analysis. Calculate the level of effective use of the pier using the formula BOR = (Σ((LOA+10) x number of ships) x Berth Time)/(Length of pier x time) x 100 and also the level of facility utilization using the formula P = (Up/Ut). 100% The effectiveness level of using the dock / floating for 1 year 4 months is not that high, namely still below 50%. The utilization rate of facilities from the company's land is 61% of the total while the use of the Pond Pier is 52% of the total length. Performance level in accordance with their respective fields and have appropriate proficiency certificates. Based on the effectiveness of the use of the pier, it needs to be increased because it is still relatively low, and the use of facilities at PT JMI needs to be improved to make it more efficient.
