Abstract

Transportation is an important aspect of daily human life or activities. With transportation, people can easily access various areas both short and long distances that generally cannot be reached on foot. Interest in using this mode of transportation is a form of consumer loyalty to use a product or service continuously or continuously. This research aims to analyze the factors that influence interest in using the Wijayakusuma executive class train transportation mode at Jember station. The population in this study were executive class Wijayakusuma train passengers with a research sample of 100 respondents. The sampling technique used is nonprobability sampling with a sampling type, namely Quota Sampling. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, data is analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (Software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS). The results of this research show that the variables of price perception, promotion, service quality and facilities partially influence interest in using the mode. The results of multiple regression analysis obtained the equation Y = - 1.254 + 0.458X1 + 0.233X2 + 0.126X3 + 0.250X4 + µ where all the variables studied showed a positive and significant influence on interest in using the mode. From the regression equation it can also be seen that the variable that has the most dominant influence on interest in using the mode is the price perception variable with a regression coefficient of 0.458. And the coefficient of determination value obtained (Adjusted R Square = 0.525) means 52.5%. The coefficient of determination value is 50.6% and remains constant (100% - 52.5% = 47.5%) influenced by other variables outside the research or modal regression equation.
