Abstract

One of the basic needs for agricultural products is rice. In Indonesia, rice is the most important food to be developed for the national economy because rice is the country's most important staple food, which covers more than half of the country's population. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the influence of rice production (X1), rice consumption (X2), exchange rate (X3), and local rice prices (X4) on rice imports (Y) in Indonesia for the period 2013 to 2023. Secondary data was obtained through the Agency Indonesian Statistics Center (BPS), Bank Indonesia This research aims to examine the influence of Production, Consumption, Exchange Rates, Prices on rice imports in Indonesia in 2013-2023. This research is a quantitative type of research and the analytical tool used in this research is Error Correction Models (ECM) regression. The results of the dynamic model estimation Error Collection Model Two Step Engle-Granger (ECM E-G) in the short term are obtained ∆IMB = -371512.5 - 0.081099∆PRODUCTIONIt + 0.000854∆CONSUMSIt - 239.3572∆KURSt + 944.3046∆HARGAt -1.071636∆E ct and can be made The mathematical equation for the long term is IMB = -15597665 - 0.015207PRODUCTION + 0.000770CONSUMPTION- 294.3321EXCHANGE + 442.6686PRICE. The results of this research are that in the short term production and exchange rates do not influence rice imports, while consumption and prices influence rice imports. In the long term, production and exchange rates have no influence on rice imports, while consumption and prices influence rice imports in Indonesia Keywords: Rice Imports, Production, Consumption, Exchange Rates and Local Rice Prices.
