Abstract
The main topic of this paper discussion in writing is the maintenance standards for safety equipment on rescue ships in KN. SAR Permadi 249. The background of the problem in this paper is what efforts are made to maintain safety equipment on board the KN.SAR Permadi 249 ship, scheduling and carry out routine maintenance and replacing outdated safety equipment, what affects the effectiveness of safety equipment in the environment maritime, The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the causes of low maintenance of safety equipment on board ships, to find out the causes of lack of skilled ship crew regarding maintenance and to find out the obstacles that occur in maintaining safety equipment on board ships. In the process of collecting data to support the content of this paper. , the author uses several methods. Judging from the sources, the author uses primary and secondary data. Meanwhile, the author's data collection method uses observation, interviews, documentation and literature study methods. The results of the discussion of this paper are the factors that cause low maintenance of safety equipment on board ships due to lack of skilled crew members, efforts to improve crew skills by familiarizing routine maintenance and inspections to make them more optimal, obstacles to maintaining safety equipment at KN SAR Permadi due to less creative human resources. Conclusions from In the making of this paper, the low performance of crew members is the main factor in less than optimal maintenance. Efforts to improve crew performance have resulted in less than optimal maintenance and operation. Keywords: Safety and Maintenance Tools.
