Abstract

The main topic of discussion in writing this paper is about the Management of Foreign Motor Tanker (MT) Ship Agencies at PT. Masada Jaya. There are several background problems that must be resolved by the author, namely the management process of foreign tanker agencies, obstacles that occur during the agency management process of foreign tankers, and efforts made to overcome obstacles in managing foreign flagged tanker agencies to lead to a deep understanding of ship agency management. The purpose of writing this paper is none other than to find out the agency management of foreign-flagged tankers. This research uses qualitative research methods with conservation approaches, interviews, documentation and literacy studies for agency management of foreign-flagged tankers, focusing on understanding the agency management of foreign-flagged tankers, the obstacles that occur and efforts to overcome obstacles that occur during the ship's agency management process. The result of the discussion of this paper is the agency management process of foreign-flagged tankers, there are several steps that are explained in detail. These steps include the clearance process in the ship, the loading and unloading permit for dangerous goods (BMBB), the ship clearance out process, cargo handling, and service to the needs of ships and ship crew. After that, factors of possible constraints in the management of foreign-flagged tankers are identified. These factors include lack of communication, natural factors such as bad weather, lack of accuracy and firmness, as well as internet and Inaportnet system disruptions. Furthermore, there is an explanation of how to overcome these obstacles. One of them is by improving communication and coordination between employees in the company, as well as ensuring effective supervision of the implementation of duties and responsibilities.
