Abstract
Human Resources is one of the most influential factors in an organization, both institutions and companies. In a company Human Resources is the key that determines whether the company's targets can run optimally. Therefore, the company must improve the quality of the performance of its employees so that the company's goals are immediately achieved. This paper aims to find out how important it is to improve the quality of company performance, how to implement the development provided by the company, what factors cause the decline in employee performance, and how important employee retention is to develop the quality of employee performance. The data used in this study are primary data obtained through field observations and direct interviews with the head of the human resources division of PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Cabang Tanjung Perak while the writer was doing ground practice and secondary data was obtained from journals and library books as well as other reading sources relating to the subject matter taken. To create qualified employees, PT. Dharma Lautan Utama Cabang Tanjung Perak seeks to improve the quality of its employees by providing special education and training to each division and understanding the company culture. In addition, employee maintenance needs to be improved to be able to produce employees with good potential and be able to compete with other competing companies.
