Abstract
Ship crew recruitment system by PT. Transcoal Pacific Tbk Jakarta aims to determine the condition or quality of Human Resources (HR), which is the initial process in a company's efforts to realize its goals.The selection of ship crew is very important so that the operation of the company's ship fleet is in accordance with the needs and desires of users, in this case ships belonging to PT. Transcoal Pacific Tbk Jakarta has definite procedures for the crew recruitment process, starting from reviewing the Curriculum Vitae until the crew is transferred to a ship offshore. The method used by the author in solving this problem is a qualitative research method which emphasizes the meaning of data collection techniques (combined) with serveral methods. From research conducted by the author during land practice, it can be concluded that the company PT. Transcoal Pacific Tbk Jakarta has been good at recruiting ship crew. Even though each company has established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), in recruiting ship crew at PT. Transcoal Pacific Tbk Jakarta, there are still external and internal obstacles that must be minimized so that the workforce can be managed well and efficiently. The existence of information management and data screening of prospective crew members has been proven to be able to reduce the impact of crew recruitment in achieving workforce efficiency and effectiveness in operational activities to achieve company goals.
