Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of road improvements, road capacity, human factors, and traffic volume on traffic congestion on Jalan Pantura (Case Study on Jalan Pantura Batu Karangtengah Demak). Data sources include primary and secondary data. The population in this study were users of the Pantura road in Demak. Determination of sample size using the Slovin formula. The sample in this study consisted of 100 respondents who used the Pantura Demak road. The sampling technique is non-probability sampling and the sampling technique uses incidental sampling. Data collection was carried out using observation methods, literature studies, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression which is first tested through a questionnaire test (validity and reliability) and classical assumption tests (autocorrelation, heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity, normality). The results of the analysis using the statistical tools of the SPSS V.25 program obtained a multiple linear regression equation: Y = -0.956 + 0.314.X1 + 0.271.X2 + 0.326.X3 + 0.153.X4 + µ The results of the multiple linear regression equation show that the Road Repair variable (X1) has a tcount of 0.314 and a ttable of 1.66088, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The Road Capacity variable (X2) has tcount 0.271 and ttable 1.66088, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The Human Factor variable (X3) has a tcount of 0.326 and a ttable of 1.66088, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The Traffic Volume variable (X4) has tcount 0.153 and ttable 1.66088, so H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the Road Repair variable, Road Capacity variable, Human Factors variable and Traffic Volume variable had an effect on traffic congestion. Keywords: Road Improvements, Road Capacity, Human Factors, Traffic Volume and Traffic Congestion.
