Abstract
The ship guidance process will run smoothly when all goes well and there are no obstacles. However, it is different when the implementation is limited and damaged by guide facilities and lack of human resources / guide personnel, resulting in delays in the ship guidance process. The lack of guidance facilities and damage as well as the lack of human resources / guide personnel cause the length of the ship guidance process and can cause losses for Pelindo Gresik. In this regard, this study aims to determine the factors causing delays in the guidance process and efforts that can be made to increase the productivity of ship harvesters at Gresik Port. This thesis research method is qualitative descriptive. Data sources are taken from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques using field research which include, observation and documentation so that data validity techniques are obtained. The results of the study concluded that the inhibiting factors or obstacles that cause the productivity of guidance not to run smoothly are limitations and damage to equipment and lack of human resources / guide personnel. The impact of limitations and damage to equipment and lack of human resources / guide personnel is the delay in the process of two, complaints from service users, and changes in schedules and losses for PT. Pelindo and ship service users. Efforts that can be made are the addition of experienced and competent guide personnel and carry out maintenance, maintenance and addition of guidance facilities if necessary added.
