Abstract
Labuan Bajo is one of the popular tourism destinations in Indonesia which is famous for its amazing underwater natural beauty. To support tourism and economic development in this area, the role of PT Pelayaran Nasional as a provider of maritime transportation facilities is very important. As the largest archipelagic country in the world, Indonesia has more than 17,000 islands with 95,181 km of coastline. The country's area is a marine area. Maritime transportation is a vital element in national life in fostering the unity and unity of the Indonesian nation as an archipelagic country. In this research, analysis was carried out to evaluate the role of PT. Indonesian National Shipping in the economic development of Labuan Bajo. The data sources used in this research are primary data obtained directly from sources in the field sourced from respondents related to this research and secondary data from agencies related to this research. The methods used are interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. The discussion shows that PT. Indonesian National Shipping has a major role as a provider of transportation services, especially Labuan Bajo, as well as a factor that causes delays in transportation providers and improves Labuan Bajo's economy. The results of the author's research show that there is a role for PT. Pelni in providing transportation services and economic development in Labuan Bajo. Keywords: Role of PT.
