Abstract
Occupational Safety and Health is an effort of cooperation, mutual understanding and participation of employers and employees in the company to carry out joint duties and obligations in the field of occupational safety, health and security in order to increase productivity. Work safety for loading and unloading workers (TKBM) in order to support the process of loading and unloading containers at PT. PELINDO Regional II Jambi. It was still found that loading and unloading workers were not equipped with and did not wear safety equipment when in the field. The less than optimal effect of using safety equipment means that the health and safety of loading and unloading workers is not guaranteed, this increases the risk of work accidents and hampers the process during loading and unloading activities at the port. The principle of handling container loads is something that must be considered and implemented carefully and regularly. Based on Minister of Manpower Regulation Number. PER.05/MEN/1996 article 2, the main aim and target of the occupational safety and health system is to create an occupational safety and health system in the workplace involving elements of management, labor and the work environment that are integrated in order to prevent and reduce accidents and occupational diseases and the creation of a safe, efficient and productive workplace. Occupational safety and health (K3) aims to ensure perfection or physical and spiritual health of the workforce as well as their work and culture. There are several things that are the main objectives of occupational safety and health (K3), namely as follows: Securing a system of activities/work starting from input, process to output. Usually in the from of production activities within industry or outside industry such as in the public sector and other. It is hoped that this can improve welfare (well-being). The purpose of this paper is to carry out work safety knowledge in handling loading and unloading, coordinating and communicating regarding the work of workers in loading and unloading, remembering regulations for using safety equipment, carrying out practices regarding helath and safety equipment, and holding safety meetings for unloading workers load. The methods used are observation, interviews, literature and literature. The results obtained by workers are that they can understand the principles of loading and unloading snacks optimally, carry out all work safety procedures step by step, and continue to pay attention to safety tools and equipment at work.
