Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (OPH) is a protective effort/effort shown to workers and other people so that when working in the workplace they are always safe and healthy so that they can produce or carry out work in the field safely and efficiently. Based on the background of the problem in optimizing occupational safety and health, problems can be formulated regarding what equipment to use, efforts to mix safety equipment, and obstacles to safety equipment as well as solutions for how to deal with it if an accident occurs. The purpose of this writing is to find out what equipment is used during loading and unloading, carrying out efforts to dismantle work safety equipment, knowing all the obstacles and solutions in overcoming the risk of accidents to workers. Therefore, the author carried out practice and observation for 4 months at PT Rimo Transport Expressindo at Tanjung Emas port, Semarang. In this paper it can be concluded that efforts to improve work safety equipment are very effective in minimizing the risk of work accidents, and the company provides the personal protective equipment (PPE) needed for the work of loading and unloading all kinds of containers, and preventing and anticipating work accidents in the loading and unloading area.
