Abstract
Problems in the Management Process for Ship Document Extension are limited operational staff/agency, lack of awareness of ship owners in equipping their ships with equipment that meets standards and the lack of professionalism of KSOP officers in offices in serving the community/ship agents. The purpose of this study is to explain the obstacles that occur in the process of processing ship document extension by PT. DIV SAMUDERA ABADI BATAM.This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. This research was conducted at PT. DIV Samudera Abadi Batam from August 2020 to January 2021. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation study. While informants (resource persons) who are used as research are employees consisting of the Operational Division/Agency, Internal Audit and Branch Head of PT. DIV SAMUDERA ABADI. The results of this study are: The process of arranging ship documents extension begins with an agreement from both parties, namely the principal or ship owner with the ship agency to produce a cooperation agreement letter. After an agreement was made, the ship agency began to extend the ship's documents which had expired and made a request letter at the KSOP regarding the extension of the ship's documents, followed by an inspection from the marine inspector officer, after producing an inspection without any delay, the KSOP would issue a New Document as soon as possible.
