Abstract

This paper was written to get a better picture regarding the duties of PT Rimo Transport Expressindo Semarang in the activities of handling and optimizing cargo on board, which is very important to do so that the ship has good stability, as a support for shipping safety. The problem covered is the process of handling stability and optimization of containers in accordance with procedures. The purpose of this observation is to find out the activities of loading containers on ships and their stabilization at PT Rimo Transport Expressindo Semarang in 2023 as well as the stages passed, the parties involved, the procedures used in loading and unloading activities, the obstacles experienced. To collect the data used, the author used methods obtained through interviews, observations which involved directly seeing activities at the port, books, archives and other sources. The results of the research show that managing container loads that deviate from the bay plan can be resolved by making the bay plan correctly, ensuring the data and quantity to be loaded, always communicating well with each activity, and monitoring the loading process and the container cargo security system must be according to standard operating procedures.
