Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has many rivers, however, due to the narrow river channels, large ships often cannot enter coal jetties. Therefore, in Indonesia, coal unloading is often carried out using a transshipment system. Transshipment is the transfer of cargo from one ship to another ship or barge directly. However, there are several factors that hinder the transshipment process. To find out the factors that transshipment occurs, it is necessary to make observations. The data collection method used by the author in this scientific paper uses a descriptive observation method with a qualitative approach, namely observations that explain the cause and effect of an event, while also explaining the entire process from the start of the event to the impact of the event, many factors and the impact of delays. in the transhipment system at PT Mitra Bahtera Segara Sejati. There are five factors and two impacts of delays. These are weather factors, expired ship certificate factors, in-pornet system maintenance factors, ship engine maintenance factors, and human resource factors.
