Abstract
The radiator is one of the cooling machines with water on the water cooling system (water cooling system). The heat from the combustion gas in the cylinder of the water cooling system is partially absorbed by the cooling water. The damage to the radiator was caused by the damage to its components. This leads to a lack of generator engine performance. So to reduce the damage to the radiator in the generator engine, a treatment is needed so that the components do not get damaged quickly. The treatment involves checking the radiator water, checking the radiator piping, filling the coolant water on a regular basis, and not experiencing overheating. This peaper aims to find out the damage and maintenance of the radiator on the ship's generator engine. So the life of the components in the generator engine radiators can last a long time. In writing this work, the author uses writing methods such as observation, interviewing, library research, and documentation. The outcome of scientific writing, among other things, is performing treatments by frequently examining the components of radiators. Damage to the radiator component resulted in decreased generator performance. Another example of treatment is watching the water level of the radiator after use. Periodic maintenance of radiators in generator engines is very much needed. The main cause of the damage to the components of the radiator is the leakage of the hose. Once we know the factors that influence the cause of radiator damage on the generator, if there is a problem with the repair, it can be done by doing the work according to the instructions in the manual book, such as replacing already inappropriate components.
