Abstract
Loading and unloading is a process of loading and unloading by moving cargo from port to ship or from ship to port which is carried or transported to the destination safely and in a place carried out in accordance with port procedures by the ship's crew and port parties using loading and unloading equipment, either from the ship itself or from port. The research aims of finding out what tools are used in the process of unloading factory materials., procedures and obstacles faced in the loading and unloading process. The research was carried out using qualitative methods and collected data from observations, interviews or document studies that the author collected. The research results found that the loading and unloading equipment used included container Crane, Forklift, Truck Tlaler, Reach Stacker, Rubber Tyred gantry, Straddle Carrier, and ship gear. The container unloading process is good, runs smoothly, in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedur, but sometimes there are still problems during the material unloading process, in the form of damaged packaging, resulting in waiting trucks. Meanwhile, the obstacles faced in the process of loading and unloading factory material on container ships by PT Rimo include: Loading and unloading equipment not working optimally and inadequately, The container stacking system does not match the cargo, Field conditions are uneven, causing water to flood at rain in the stacking yard and Idle time due to equipment and operators.
